Safe Roads For Our Children

When Elijah Alvitre came into this world and into my arms, I knew he was special, his eyes, his cry, his smile. As he grew, he was loving, kind and love to play sports, loved to jump around, just like a super hero, my own super hero. I can just hear him coming into my room and tell me; "put my cape on, I want to be Batman", he loved to be Batman everyday but now he s gone with god in his kingdom and all I have are memories of him and pictures. It's not the same! losing a child is so painful for the bond you share for 9 months and the love you share for their whole life and all of sudden they are gone...

They say the reason why children get taken at such young age is because they are too precious, too precious to live on this earth and I believe it. I look back at your life and realize that you were one of a kind. I look back at all the memories we had together and how there was always a smile on my face because of you. You would make me laugh and feel the love inside and it's something I will keep forever. went from being batman and putting a Spiderman in jail to being a little boy who loved school and was extremely smart, Little Brother, I just want you to know that from the day you were brought into this world, I love you like no other ad I will always love you more than you'll ever know

I am Elijah's grandmother and not a day goes by that I don't feel the pain of missing him. All because someone was not paying attention while they were driving. I don't understand how people can be so careless or how because the driver was not drunk the sentence is so light. I think it is very important that everyone do all they can to prevent traffic fatalities so another family doesn't have to go through the same experience. Elijah was always so happy and friendly saying hi to everyone that crossed his path. He loved Batman, Spiderman, monster trucks and motorcycles. Due to someone's negligence we will never get to see him graduate from kindergarten, middle school, high school or college. My son cannot teach him how to play ball or anything else that fathers teach their sons. There is a gap that nothing else can ever fill. Holidays are not the same, especially Thanksgiving as he died 4 days before this holiday in 2013.
